Announcement: Heroes of the Dorm Power Rankings Committee

Introducing the (unofficial) Heroes of the Dorm power rankings committee. Each week, the committee will publish their power rankings for Heroes of the Dorm in a style very similar to that of college football. The committee consists of ten people who will nominate their top eight teams each week and points will be allocated accordingly. Once everyone has submitted their thoughts, a total will be taken of each team and will be ranked one through eight with teams not making the cut being given honourable mentions. In order to keep things fair and unbiased, there will be one representative from six of the title contenders on the committee plus four “outsiders”, people of the Tespa and Heroes community.

Fizzicles (University of North Texas)

Fizzicles is a 21 year old student at UNT and drafter of the Dorm team this year. He’s a high ranked GM player peaking at #24 on the ladder who has a diverse hero pool. He hopes to that this group can provide accurate, fair and reasonable rating to the community in order to increase the knowledge surrounding Dorm.

Domovarion (Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis)

Domovarion is best known for his Medivh play on the US server and is considered one of the best players of that hero. Captaining the IUPUI team this year, he hopes his roster can make it all the way to the Heroic Four and beyond.

Sim (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières)

Sim is the current solo-laner of UQTR’s Snow Frogs, a team which reached Round of 32 in Dorm 2017 and finished in the top of Tespa’s Training Grounds last semester. Surrounded by a group of friends from highschool, Sim believes that his team are the strongest they’ve ever been and has his sights set on the Heroic Four

Hoss (Louisiana State University)

Hoss is the captain of the LSU roster once again this year after the team made it to the championship match last time around. Having also played with Imported Support at PAX West in 2016, he’s no stranger to the big stage. He hopes to bring some realistic rankings to the world of Heroes of Dorm alongside his counterparts and hopefully increase the awareness of the names to look out for this year.

WoukA (Université Laval)

WoukA is the second Canadian on the committee and will be representing Laval. Laval, as a team, came the closest of any to beating UTA last year and had a strong showing in the Training Grounds last semester being the only team to take a series off of LSU.

Piccaboo (University of Kentucky)

Having made the Heroic Four last time around, Piccaboo is back this year once again as the support player for Kentucky. The UKY roster finished in 2nd place last semester in the Training Grounds and are looking to continue their success this semester.

Fitzy (Carleton University Tespa President)

Fitzy has been a long standing member of the Tespa community being at the helm of the Carleton chapter and competing in Dorm for his fourth year in a row. Watching over all of his teams compete in a number of Tespa sanctioned tournaments, he understands the world and the volatility that is collegiate esports.

Dunkstik (HeroesHype Caster)

Dunkstik has been hovering around the amateur scene for a while and has, in recent months, stepped up into the position of casting parts of the HGC Open Division and HeroesHype Amateur Series. After attending the Dorm finals in Vegas last year, Dunkstik will be following this year’s action even closer than before.

EKevin (2017 Dorm Winner)

EKevin was one of six player to receive the title of champion last year with his Arlington roster. A long standing pillar of the amateur community, a lot have players have found a home within his discord server which has led to many new friendships being born.

Mistax (Memer/Collegiate Heroes/UCI Alum)

Mistax has been around the amateur since it’s inception in some form or another yet found his home aiding the UCI program over the two previous years. Because of this, he’s always kept a close eye on Heroes of the Dorm every year and this will be no different.

Starting next week, the committee will be posting their rankings before the games commence. Be sure to check back in order to keep up to date and tune in to heroesofthedorm.com/watch to follow all the action live!
